YS Tang, a distinguished classical guitarist, is a luminary in Malaysia's classical music scene. This year marks his Singapore debut that includes his 2024 tour across Malaysia. A graduate with a Masters in Music Performance from Texas Tech University, Tang is not only a performer but also an avid collaborator in chamber ensembles, delving into a broad spectrum of classical works with a special focus on early music.

He is committed to expanding the reach of classical music through outreach programmes aimed at engaging younger audiences. Known for his captivating performances, his repertoire traverses Bach to Barrios and extends into the contemporary realm. Beyond the stage, Tang enriches the classical guitar community through public seminars and is highly regarded as an educator, with over 25 years of experience. His contributions to both performance and pedagogy make him a leading voice for the classical guitar.

YS TANG // CLASSICAL GUITAR WORKSHOP & MASTERCLASS

YS Tang will conduct an exclusive classical guitar workshop and masterclass tailored for musicians of all skill levels, from elementary to advanced. This is limited to only five participants. The one-hour intensive workshop will explore the refined techniques that define classical guitar mastery, as Tang imparts his profound expertise and artistic insights.

The technical workshop will be followed by individual sessions for each participant, of up to 30 minutes each. Participants will not only benefit from the hands-on coaching but also from the rich learning experience of observing individual lessons. Participants will leave with a profound understanding of classical guitar technique and artistry. Each participant will receive a Certificate of Participation.

Tea, coffee and non-halal sandwiches will be provided.
